And a Happy New Year

Merry Christmas to all my loyal Decolytes! Thanks for all the support in 2025.

I didn’t get to do a Christmas card last year as I was too busy. I’m very busy at the end of 2025 too as it happens but didn’t want to miss another year. My last couple of cards have all been drawings of an area in County Clare called Hags Head, which is also where my sister also got married this very year so I really couldn’t skip it.

I try to share a Declarations ‘present’ every Christmas, this year I’m resurfacing an old story. This is the first published story I ever wrote/drew, in fact. ‘No Witnesses’ was a story I did in 2008 for Joel Meadow’s Tripwire Magazine, back when I was deep in my Sean Phillips/CRIMINAL phase. Joel recently scanned these pages from an old copy of the magazine for me, which was sound of him. If I remember right, Ian Brill [an editor at Boom! Studios at the time] saw this story and it’s what made him think of me for 28 DAYS LATER.
